Certificate Course

Hi Brookfield Pony Club Riders,

If you are 11 years and over, and want to be more knowledgeable and competent around and on your horse, or compete in Pony Club Queensland (PCQ) State competitions, you are invited to take part in our C or C Star Proficiency Certificate Training Course.

For more information about what is involved, select the Resources tab on the PCQ website, select the Coaching option from the drop down box (https://ponyclubqld.com.au/resources/rulebooks/coaching-resources/) and then select ‘Proficiency Certificates Explained’ and ‘PCA Syllabus of Instruction’. This provides information on all the requirements to achieve your C or C Star Standard Proficiency Certificate. The Pony Club Australia Proficiency Certificate structure encourages Riding Members to prepare for and take tests which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding (horsemanship).

Zone 1 will be holding an assessment day on Sunday 9 May for C and C* candidates, although there will be another assessment day in the second half of the year. The day starts with assessment of presentation, flatwork and jumping ability over small jumps, followed by assessment of knowledge of horse care and handling skills.

If we can get a group of riders who are keen, we will start a study group to make the learning more fun. Typically in past years, we have had 4 theory sessions together, plus a ridden and practical session. The course will start in mid-March, with a 2 hour study session from 7 pm every Tuesday evening for 4 weeks, and a practical session at the next muster. You will need to register and receive your workbook before that. Encourage your friends to come along and do it with you.

If you have any queries or would like to take part, please contact Sandy Pollitt at sandypollitt@hotmail.com as soon as possible.

Regards,

Sandy Pollitt
