Next Muster – Formal Ribbon Day Gymkhana
Sunday 15 April, 8.45 am – 3 pm
The Formal Day events will be: Presentation, Rider Class (may include rein drill for riders over 12), Junior Handler, Pairs of Riders (non-competitive), Show Jumping (AM7) and 3 games (Drum and Peg, Bending, Bounce Pony). Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place for each class, as well as prizes for overall group winners and placegetters. The “one horse, one rider” rule will apply for competitive points on the day. For more information on these events, see the Pony Club Queensland Formal Gymkhana and Sporting Rules 2018, on the PCAQ website under “Rulebooks” (http://www.pcaq.asn.au/Resources/RuleBooks.aspx). Attached are some concise notes.
Please note that uniform and presentation will be Formal.
UNIFORM is our long sleeved beige shirt, tie and tie pin, instead of the informal polo shirt, and beige jodhpurs or beige stockman cut trousers/jeans. The green pullover or sleeveless vest can be worn. This is the official Brookfield uniform required if you are competing at any PCAQ events. If you don’t have your Formal uniform as yet, please contact our Uniform Co-Ordinator, Emma Tait (emmatait74@gmail.com), who can arrange to meet you at the clubhouse prior to the day.
Horses should be clean and well groomed, with manes and tails plaited (unless hogged/shaved). Saddles and bridles must be clean and well cared for. The Formal Ribbon Day Gymkhana is a great chance for rider and horse to get beautifully spruced up!!
Adult riders are encouraged to participate as well.
This is always a great day of fun and competition, with the riders taking part in both formal classes and games events. It’s also great practice for the Brookfield Show which is only a month later.
