September Muster – Sunday 19 September
Formal Gymkhana – Sunday 19 September.
We hope you are all excited about taking part in our annual Formal Gymkhana at our BHPC muster on Sunday 19 September. Here is some information about the day.
Brookfield Pony Club Formal Gymkhana – Sunday 19 September **9AM START**
This is one of our yearly competition gymkhanas or ribbon days, where riders win ribbons and earn points towards the end-of-year Trophies. For this Formal Gymkhana, riders come in Formal uniform, with horses plaited, clean and well groomed, saddlery clean and oiled as required, ready for Presentation class. I have attached plaiting instructions, practise makes perfect!!
Riders will also compete in Rider Class, Junior Handler, AM 7 Show Jumping, 3 games (Drum & Peg, Bending and Scudda ho) and Pairs of Riders (non-competitive). Parents will be needed to help as group stewards, scorers, etc, so please put aside this day to volunteer. Adult riders are also encouraged to ride on the day. The day will begin with line up as usual before breaking into groups and gear check.
The BHPC website has Rider class and Junior Handler notes to help you prepare for the Formal Gymkhana – BHPC Information for Members. Rider class and Junior Handler will be simplified for the younger groups. You can find copies of the games on the Pony Club Queensland website (Sporting and Formal Gymkhana rulebook). Start practising the games at home!!!
Ribbons will be awarded for each class, as well as prizes for overall group winners and 2nd and 3rd placegetters.
To assist with planning, please let Sandy know if you are coming or not coming by 5 pm Monday 13 September (sandypollitt@hotmail.com or text 0400 952002).
COVID-19 restrictions continue to allow community sport, but we must all remember to wash hands regularly, use the sanitiser available, and practise social distancing to keep us all safe. If you are unwell, please do not attend. Each family must fill out a Horse health and Participant Health Declaration (attached) and leave in the box beside the main oval gate before the muster.
Looking forward to lots of fun at our Sporting Gymkhana.
Regards
Sandy
