Zone 1 Boonah Camp 30th June – 2nd July
Seven Brookfield riders participated in this year’s Zone 1 camp. It is a well organized, fun and varied programme only 1 hour from home, which allows horse and rider to try lots of new things.
The Bobby Bayard Sporting Gymkhana is held on the first day. There are always new games and riders’ points accumulate for age champions, as well as club points. It would be wonderful for Brookfield to have more riders there to boost our performance. The Sunday and Monday are similar to our camp with some novelty sessions like laser pistol shooting as a taste of Tetrathlon, and also Professional Trick riders giving demonstration and instructions so we all got to try some tricks as well. There is also Show Jumping, obstacle course, games, cattle work, presentation and even polocrosse, which was lots of fun!
Everyone is encouraged to enter the Campdraft on the Sunday night and it’s wonderful to see how versatile horse and rider can be! Horses and most riders stay at the grounds and lots of fun is had meeting new friends and being able to catch up after the riding is done!
Come and join in the fun next year!
