September 2026 Newsletter

Hi BHPC members,

I have attached the September 2026 newsletter to keep you informed about Pony Club activities. There is information about our August and September musters, September beach ride and other BHPC activities. I welcome your photos and stories of your equestrian activities throughout the year to include in the newsletter.

September Muster: Sunday 20 September – 8 am – approx. 2 pm

8 am Start - 2 pm Finish (approximately) - Summer uniform - riders come in Informal uniform (polo shirt or long sleeved cool shirt).

Adult riders are invited to come for their own lesson in the long yard at 7 am before the muster.

Muster activities will include dressage and cross country jumping, as well as games and target challenge. Riders jumping cross country will need to wear a body protector. For those keen riders who wish to take part, we will run a time trial around the oval after the lunch break.

The September muster aims to prepare our riders for our One Day Event (ODE) muster in October. An ODE consists of 3 separate phases: dressage, cross country and show jumping. At the ODE muster, even the youngest riders do a dressage test (parents are most welcome in the dressage arena) and get around the cross country course (may be led).

The canteen will be open for morning tea with home baking, tea, coffee and cold drinks available. We are planning an easy sausage sizzle lunch. During the lunch break, there will be a special ceremony to acknowledge the completion of the Rita O’Hanlon Arena refencing and drainage project with Dr Christiam Rowan MP in attendance. Dr Rowan’s election promise of funding enabled the club to undertake this major project.

All riders, please let Sandy know if you are coming or not coming to the muster by 5 pm Tuesday 15 September - email chiefinstructor@brookfieldponyclub.org.au or text 0400 952 002. This is important to allow rider groups and instructors to be organised.  A timetable will be provided before the muster.

BHPC Beach Ride – Tuesday 22 September 2026

During the Spring School holidays, we are planning to have a pony club beach ride at Beachmere, along the section of beach where horse riding is allowed.

Please let Erika know if you are planning to attend. Email her at erikawoodland@bigpond.com or else text her on 0407 860 568 with the name of rider and supervising adult attending by Sunday 20 September.

Looking forward to seeing you at the muster.
